A three part collaborative art project expoloring time and space. Exhibiton includes work from poet Miriam Sagan, who has launched Wendover Landing, an interdisciplinary art piece merging poetry and sculpture, Common Language, Punctuating the Landscape by two west Texas artists, Suzi Davidoff and Rachelle Thiewes, consists of lush, large-scale photographs printed directly on aluminum and a twin-screen video production. As well as Friends of the Orphan Signs, an exhibition in the upstairs gallery organized by artist/curator Ellen Babcock, showcases historic Albuquerque road signs alongside artwork created in response to them, focusing on a dialogue between historic content and contemporary art practices. Friends of the Orphan Signs is a collaborative, public art initiative directed by Babcock, which utilizes abandoned road signs as sites for community generated public art.

This class will be based on the Italic script and will be greared toward improving your own handwriting as well as introduce you to one style of calligraphy. The class will be taught by Jan Florence, a Native New Mexican. Jan just loves lettering and all the roads it takes you down. She is a member of Escribiente which is the Calligraphy Guild in Albuquerque. Included in class fee: all the supplies needed for the class (pens & paper plus other items), handouts, reference books, examples, plus some ideas of what you can do with what you've learned.

The Consulate of Mexico and the South Broadway Cultural Center closes the celebration of El Santo with the 5th and final night of free films. Come enjoy Santo en Anónimo Mortal where Santo agrees to protect a businessman who has received an anonymous death threat. Santo begins to unwrap a carefully detailed web of intricacies, all planned out by a mysterious nazi commander who was sentenced to death by a German jury of anti-nazi citizens. The Albuquerque Museum and the New Mexico Council of Car Clubs invite you to participate in the 28th Annual Automobile Show. This year’s theme will be “Celebrating 100 Years of Chevrolet”. Chevrolets will be featured in a special area, but all makes of vehicles are welcome and eligible for awards.
The show is open to: antique, vintage, classic, sports, exotic, special interest, and modified automobiles. Trucks, motorcycles, motor scooters, tractors, and vintage campers are welcome to participate. Only vehicles of 1987 and older vintage will be eligible for awards.

Spending Sunday afternoon on a farm can be fun and relaxing. This cheese making class on the farm in Estancia is an excellent way to learn more about our dairy and how to make cheese at home. This month you will also have the opportunity to feed baby goats while you are here. During the class you will learn how to inoculate the milk, curd the cheese, hoop the cheese, drain cheese, and stretch fresh mozzarella. Activities include snacking on a wonderful cheese platter, touring the farm, feeding the babies, and making cheese. Voted one of the “Top 100 Things to do in the Southwest” by Sunset Magazine. Pr-registration is required as classes fill up quickly.
